Special Services
Special Services and Multimedia Services are planned in conjunction with holy days and those events which affect our lives. Special celebrations and events offer opportunities to develop services to fit the needs of peoples' lives.
Worship Committee
Discussion, reflection and preparation in planning for worship contribute to individual formation and awareness of all aspects of liturgy: historical, ritual, and sacramental. Worship committees meet on a regular basis to plan and coordinate each type of service. Email Lora Walsh at worship@allsaintschicago.org for more information.
Prayer and Fellowship
Prayer shapes our belief. As Anglicans the single most important formation is prayer within our liturgy. At All Saints' opportunities for prayer and community are provided on an ongoing and sometimes informal basis:
Women's Spirituality Group - retreats, field trips, and engaging
conversations centered around God and the role of women in our world.
Men's Group -great food, beer, bowling, theological discussion and power tool use as Christians.
Parents' Group - opportunities for sharing joys and difficulties of being faithful parents in a secular world. Email parents@allsaintschicago.org for more information.
Book Group - opportunities to read and discuss current novels and
nonfiction readings while considering the question, Where is God in this
book and where is God in our lives? Email bookgroup@allsaintschicago.org for more information.
"Will you proclaim by word and example the Good News of God in Christ?" (BCP)
Scripture
The grounding for all our beliefs comes from scripture. At All Saints' and in the Episcopal church we believe Holy Scripture contains all things necessary for salvation.(This does not mean that we must believe all things in the Bible - or that everything in the Bible is necessary for salvation).
