Katrina Response Task Force

All Saints' Episcopal Church - Chicago: Katrina Response Task Force

Hurricane Katrina was the costliest and one of the deadliest hurricanes in the history of the United States. Due to its sheer size, Katrina devastated the Gulf Coast as far as 100 miles (160 km) from the storm's center.

Joey Sylvester, an All Saints' parishioner, has brought her enthusiasm for aid to the people of New Orleans and to-date, has helped organize a number of mission trips which include house gutting and community outreach through our partnering parish, St. Luke's New Orleans. This work became official through the creation of the All Saints' Katrina Response Task Force, which sponsors outreach trips, hosts educational events and recently created a video of their outreach efforts.

Our next New Orleans rebuid trip is scheduled for September 30-October 8, 2011.
