Fran Holliday, Associate Rector

I have served as the Associate Rector of All Saints’ since October of 2009. I am very excited to be here in the midst of this community where I was an active parishioner from 1994 until my ordination to the priesthood in 2003. Prior to being ordained I worked in residential treatment with adolescents and as a nursing home social worker.

I believe that God is most visible and tangible in the midst of our relationships with others and my deepest passion is helping individuals and communities of faith develop relationships with each other and with the broader community. I love brainstorming with others on creative and “out of the box” ways to nurture these connections. Over the years I have been involved in organizing an after school program for young people, a summer camp, Cook County jail ministry, connecting churches with the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer, Fair Trade organizations and local neighborhood concerns.

I am honored to be here at All Saints’ preaching, doing pastoral care and working with our food pantry and community meal program as well as with all of our outreach ministries that touch the lives of so many people.

I love socializing and dining out. You can usually find me at quaint diners trying new cuisine and looking for the best “retro” food and décor around the country. I love film and have attended numerous film fests including the Toronto Film Fest, the Chicago Silent Film Fest and the Chicago Film Noir Festival. My favorite pastime is traveling. I love to experience new places of all kinds. Whether it is simply appreciating the beauty of an old whitewashed 1800’s church in Grafton Illinois, taking boat rides down the Mississippi, fishing on the Amazon for piranha, touring South Africa or following the old Route 66, I rarely turn down an opportunity to explore new places.

Rev. Fran earned her B.A from the University of Illinois at Chicago, and her M. Div. from Seabury Western Seminary in Evanston IL. Prior to coming to All Saints’ she served as the Curate of Christ Church, Waukegan and as the Rector of St. Richard’s in Chicago.
